BACKGROUND- Originally created on Kriafor by the God of Spirits and Souls, Caelus. Astralin was made as a host to contain half of Etia's soul after Caelus' body started to become poisoned from consuming the soul and sealing it in his body for too long. The other half was put into his brother, Arsene, made by Erebus. At birth, Caelus and Erebus inform Astralin and Arsene of their duties and the reason for their existence. However, wish for the two to have a normal life despite their purpose. - The brothers are given to Remiel and Gwendolyn Asmodei, a well off ori family in The Kingdom of Rhomya who live off the land. Caelus and Serafina wanted the twins to live a simple, and hopefully normal life despite the role they were given. - Astralin has a surprisingly normal childhood for the most part. Remiel and Gwen are farmers by trade, and Astralin learns how to farm at a young age. At this time, Remiel teaches Astralin how to use a scythe, both on the field, and in combat. He becomes a full fledged farmer in his teens. - While picking fruits a bit further away from the house, Astralin stumbles upon a little human girl who's hiding in the bushes. He approaches her, and learns that she's from a fallen house from another Kingdom. Astralin and his parents take her in, and she becomes officially adopted by the Asmodei family. As they grow up together, Astralin encourages her to continue her faith, and start her journey as a Priestess for whatever god she chooses to worship. - Around this time, his healing powers and ice magic start to emerge. Word is spread throughout the Kingdom for his ability to bring people back from the brink of death, and heal serious injures/illnesses. He's visited by many people asking for aid, and it causes trouble for him in the long run. Because, sometime in the night, Demetria Xydis makes the order to capture Astralin so she can take his power for herself. He's kidnapped by a man, simply named "Nox", and taken to his private cabin to extract his magic via torture. - Astralin is tortured to the point of near death, but after much paperwork, Orpheus intervenes and smites Nox while Astralin encases Nox's ashes in a tomb of ice. Before Orpheus can even heal Astralin, his brother, Arsene, manages to find him and rescues him from his shackles. - He's deeply traumatized from the incident, but continues his work as a farmer to ignore how Badly that almost went. Though, he tells his family not to inform the villagers, or the Kingdom itself about what happened so he could continue healing people whenever they needed it. But he does mention the intervention to his family, but Gwen and Remiel keep their mouths Shut. - As time progresses, Demetria Xydis eventually declares war on Rhomya and starts her own conquest, simply known as The Hunt. During the war, The King of Rhomya is slain, and his powers are absorbed by Demetria. The resistance is formed by an underground organization known as 'Crimson'. Astralin and Arsene join the resistance; Astralin a healer and Arsene a high ranking General. - Most of his time is spent underground healing wounded comrades. Near the end of the war, Astralin and many others assist Rin Nesidri in creating a seal that wound end Demetria Xydis' reign after Caelus and Gaia sealed away her powers. The seal works for centuries, until some nitwit breaks it but that's another story for another day. - After the war, he returns to his homeland to continue his farm work. Though, with the throne unclaimed, the villagers, and the people he helped with his healing suggest that he take the throne as a benevolent King. At first, he declines, because he isn't meant for the crown, but. After some convincing from Arsene, and his little sister, he decides to take the throne so it'd be easier for his people to receive healing from him should they need it. - As king, he is known for his benevolence and fairness. Enemies of the Kingdom mistake that kindness for weakness, and he promptly shows him why he's the King whenever they try and invade his territory. Even with the work piled on him, Astralin continues to make time for farming, and has his own acre of land on castle grounds that he takes care of. PERSONALITY- Astralin is known for being very kind, and far too caring. He's the type of person that will take care of people when they're sick, or come over at 2am if they say they're lonely. He's overall just a nice person in general, and he shows that same kindness to his people. He grew up with kind parents, and his family loving him very much, so it reflects on his personality. People can rely on him in a pinch, and he's very empathetic. He's good at making people feel better. - May sometimes come off as aloof. Astralin isn't very expressive by nature, so people mistake that aloofness for being rude. He tries to be more expressive, by smiling more often, but sometimes he just can't help the way his face moves! Or doesn't move! It also doesn't help that his voice is a bit monotone, but he tries to be more expressive with his body posture and movements. The first impression of Astralin is usually not positive and people become wary of his aloofness but it passes once he opens his mouth. - Deeply traumatized and almost a bit paranoid due to Nox's actions. Nox left him near death, and he was kidnapped in the middle of the night. Because of this, he's grown fearful of blood and has a phobia of needles that he doesn't talk about at all. He's also a bit paranoid of sleeping at night, and keeps himself sealed in a tomb of ice so no one can do it to him again. Especially even more so, as his time as King. He's a little (very) fearful but he doesn't let it show. - Astralin hardly gets angry, if at all. The only time he's gotten angry is when his nephew, Aether Zachariae was killed by Demetria Xydis in the future. Only Demetria Xydis has witnessed his true wrath, but otherwise, Astralin wouldn't ever hurt a soul unless pushed into a corner. He usually likes peaceful methods when it comes to solving problems. He's also a patient man and doesn't yell when talking with his counsel. - Highly intelligent, and surprisingly methodical. In his early reign as King, the Queendom of Vintian had plans to assassinate him and take over his Kingdom. However, he's always quick to plan and go on the defensive in every situation. He's a quick thinker, and it's helped him reign for so long that it's actually kind of scary how he thinks of new and effective things. - As stated above, he's known as a benevolent and fair King for a reason. His kindness and fairness doesn't extent to just his people, but also his enemies. After each assassination attempt, he gives them the choice to go back home and try again (LOL??) or go home, live a normal life. Most assassins never try again, and even try and defect to his Kingdom. ABILITIESScythe Proficiency: Master at using a large, 6ft scythe. His scythe is enchanted with runes to make it feel like it's just paper. It makes it easy for him to do his fancy flips and kicks with it if he needs to. Ice magic: Painfully, so painfully strong with this magic. His can summon icicles and throw them, but he can also trap people in a tomb of ice. Can use your usual diamond dust sort of abilities, and create shields with ice to protect his people and himself with it. There's probably other shit he can do with it, but you know. But his affinity with ice is so high that he leaves behind particles of ice at his feet, and behind him when he walks. Healing magic: What he's known for. He can bring people back from the brink of death after deep injuries. He can also take away serious illnesses, but at he cost of his own soul and magic.
